On 1 April 2022, Pavel Soukup successfully defended his PhD thesis entitled "Role of habitat complexity and predation in the structuring of aquatic communities". His external supervisors were Dr. Eoin O'Gorman from the University of Exeter (UK) and Prof. Jaroslav Kobak from the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń (Poland). The thesis consisted of three chapters covering a literature review with laboraroy and outdoor experiments manipulating habitat complexity together with predator-prey interactions. The first two chapters have already been published, and we have received excellent comments by both reviewers on the third manuscript as well.

We wish Pavel all the best in his continuing career as a high-profile high-school teacher!
